What: Freelance journalist Sunshine Lichauco de Leon will screen her first documentary, “Curiosity, Adventure and Love: the story of one woman, one country, one love.” It’s about the life of 104-year-old Jessie Lichauco, who came alone to Manila in 1933 at the age of 18 from the United States, and much of the Philippine history she has seen from the idyllic 1930s to World War II and independence. The film also shares insights and wisdom Jessie has gathered along the journey of her life. Jessie delighted members of MWF when she spoke at the March 2012 MWF meeting. This is a special meeting of MWF – men will be allowed to attend and we are asking everyone to contribute P1500 to be used to pay for some technical re-editing that needs to be done on the film to make it ready for film festivals and hopefully commercial viewing around the world.
